Security led by people who've actually done the work.
Dark Analytics is a founder-led, healthcare-only cybersecurity firm. No junior bench, no generalist playbook, senior, hands-on practice for the hospitals, clinics, and connected devices that keep people alive.
Meet the founder
Arturo Avila founded Dark Analytics on a simple conviction: healthcare deserves security built by people who understand both the threat and the clinical floor it lives on.
A CISSP, CISA, and GIAC-certified forensic analyst (GCFA) based in the Greater Tampa Bay area, Arturo has spent his career on the demanding end of security, enterprise defense, digital forensics, and incident response for environments where downtime isn't an inconvenience but a risk to people. That work made one gap impossible to ignore: the connected medical devices and clinical systems patients depend on are exactly the assets most security programs can't see, can't patch, and were never built to defend.
Dark Analytics is his answer, a firm that does healthcare security exclusively, delivered hands-on by a senior practitioner rather than handed off to a junior team. He pairs deep technical practice with the business fluency of a University of South Florida Executive MBA, so findings land with the engineers who fix them and the boards that fund them alike.
Beyond client work, Arturo co-founded DEF CON Group DC727, Tampa Bay's hacker and security community, and advises EC-Council on its Certified Incident Handler (E|CIH) program, because a stronger regional security community makes every organization in it harder to breach.
How we think
Biomed-fluent
We work with your clinical engineering team, not around them, accounting for FDA-cleared firmware and the protocols devices actually speak.
Uptime-first
Every control is weighed against the cost of taking care offline. We secure the clinical floor without disrupting it.
Evidence you can defend
Findings mapped to the HIPAA Security Rule, NIST, and OCR expectations, ready for auditors and your board.
Local & accountable
Tampa Bay based and senior-led. The person who scopes the work is the person who does it.
